SPARKz AS Cheerleading: Impact and Vision
The Beginning
Founder, Sharon Craig. After my mother passed away, I was devastated. One day, while driving around feeling lost, I prayed for a sign. When I turned the corner, there it was — a sign that read, “Volunteer cheer coaches needed.” I reached out and began coaching.
I met so many wonderful children, some from families facing financial challenges or other obstacles.
In 2018, I began researching the all-star cheer program and discovered that most were unaffordable for many families. In 2019, I opened a nonprofit organization in Newnan, Georgia, that would be affordable for all. The second location opened in Cedar Hill, Texas, in 2023.
Our Progress and Reach
Since the creation of the organization, our team has been able to make some serious strides. We've been able to create a change for the better nationwide. Our impact stretches from Newnan, Georgia to Cedar Hill, Texas.
We look forward to continuing work for the betterment of our youth in the community and surrounding areas.
Our Mission
Our core mission is to make competitive all-star cheerleading accessible to all families, regardless of economic background. We envision a future where financial barriers no longer dictate participation in youth sports, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every athlete has the chance to shine, develop life skills, and achieve competitive excellence.
Sponsorship Opportunity
As a sponsor, your contribution is vital to achieving our mission. By sponsoring the SPARKz AS Cheerleading, you are directly investing in the potential of young athletes and helping us maintain our commitment to affordability. We seek collaborations that align with our values of quality, accessibility, and community impact.
We are currently looking for sponsors to help with the following critical areas:
Uniforms and Apparel: Providing high-quality, durable, yet cost-effective uniforms, practice wear, and warm-ups.
Equipment and Safety: Supplying essential training mats, props, and safety gear.
Travel and Logistics: Offering discounted rates for team travel, accommodation, and transportation to competitions.
We believe that together, we can redefine the landscape of all-star cheerleading, ensuring that every child has a place on the mat.
Future Goals
Our goal is to one day have our own gym. We would provide uniforms, practice wear and a bus for the team for transportation to and from competitions. My belief is that all things can be achieved through hard work and dedication. Donations are accepted. All donations will assist an enrolled youth in our program.
The "No All Star Left Behind" Mission
The tragic loss of Kayla was a profound wake-up call that exposed a critical barrier preventing talented, passionate young athletes from participating fully in all-star cheerleading: financial hardship. Our mission is born from the unwavering belief that no child should ever be left behind due to the cost of participation. We are dedicated to honoring Kayla's memory by ensuring every aspiring cheerleader has the resources and support needed to thrive, build confidence, and experience the transformative power of all-star athletics.
Our Core Objectives:
Eliminate Financial Barriers: Provide full or partial scholarships to cover essential expenses that often prevent participation, including:
Monthly gym tuition and fees.
Competition fees (local and national).
Required team apparel (uniforms, practice wear, warm-ups).
Essential equipment (e.g., competition shoes, bows).
Foster Confidence and Inclusivity: Create a supportive, affirming environment where every athlete, regardless of background, feels valued, celebrated, and empowered, just as Kayla found her strength.
Community Engagement: Mobilize local businesses, organizations, and individuals to invest in the future of these young athletes, recognizing the positive impact cheerleading has on academic achievement, physical health, and mental well-being.
Sponsorship Needs:
To fulfill the "No All Star Left Behind" mission, we require financial assistance to cover the substantial costs associated with competitive cheerleading. Your sponsorship directly impacts a child's ability to participate.
